The Business started as a dream for my husband and I, after living in many cities we were able to visit local businesses that offered classes for kids and parents. This gave me time to relax and also have fun with her young children. When we moved to Delaware, there was nothing like that. Play areas for children were a time of chasing them instead of enjoying a small closed space with young children or having a big kid run over your small child as we played because businesses only cared about how much money they could make off children and families so they treated individuals like cattle herding them all together and fitting as many in as possible.

I began to write a business plan that reflected both the best aspects of other businesses she had seen and what she knew was lacking locally and mixed it with her passion for all-natural foods, and nontoxic living. The result was The Natural Nest Play Cafe.

Four years passed, our infant grew to be a homeschooled 5-year-old, and along came a new baby into the Rice household. We realized there STILL were no places like The Natural Nest Play Cafe. So we began the process of opening our first location. 6 months later The Natural Nest Play Cafe was born.
